Things You Should Know About Elephant Safari at Jim Corbett

The Jim Corbett National Park is famous for its multiple jungle safari options. The common safari options offered at the Corbett National Park are jeep safari, canter safari, and elephant safari. Among these, Jim Corbett Elephant Safari and jeep safari never fail to thrill tourists. Want to book the elephant safari for your next trip to the national park? Here are some important things that you should know about the safari before booking yours:

Formalities for Entry:

The entire Jim Corbett National Park area is completely restricted and protected, therefore you will always need to get official permission for visiting and exploring the core of Jim Corbett Tourism. There are two different types of permits provided: day visit permits and permits for having a night stay inside the Forest Rest House (FRH).

  • ID proofs: PAN Card Number, Voter ID, DL Number, and Passport (in case of foreigners)
  • The visitor must carry the same ID proofs as submitted previously while getting the permits
  • The pick-up and drop point for the jungle safari is Ramnagar city and can also be done from the preferred hotel/resort the visitor is residing in. However, there will be an extra cost charged depending on the location.
  • The safari charges are non-refundable once booked.

Procedure for Advance Booking:

For obtaining an advance booking, the visitors are requested to provide the authorities with the following:

  • The full name, sex, and age of every visitor traveling along. The details should be the same as printed on the ID proofs along with the confirmatory amount.
  • Particular ID number of your ID proof (Aadhar no, Voter Id, Driving license, etc.)
  • Preferred date and time for jungle safari (morning or evening shift)
  • Safari entry fee in advance
  • Choose to carry the same ID proofs as provided during the booking
  • Indian travelers are requested to intimidate 30 days in advance and foreigners 90 days in advance.
  • E-permits, once booked or confirmed, are non-refundable
  • Safari permits are issued on the basis of first come first serve.

Safari Timings :

  • Morning Safari Time- 06:00 AM to 08:00 AM
  • Evening Safari Time- 04:00 PM to 06:00 PM

The timings can change with weather changes.
